Bridal Designer To The Stars, Vera Wang and Husband Arthur Becker Getting A Divorce After Being Married 23 Years
Becker, a former tech company CEO, is widely credited with guiding Wang’s mass-market ventures and has become more involved with day-to-day operations at Vera Wang in recent years.
Bridal designer Vera Wang, whose diaphanous dresses are coveted the world over, has separated from her husband of 23 years.
“Vera Wang and Arthur Becker have mutually and amicably agreed to separate,” a rep for Wang’s company said in a statement to the Daily News. “They remain devoted parents to their two daughters.”
The rep declined to unveil any details related to a possible divorce filing.
The designer to the stars got her start running an Upper East Side bridal shop after she had trouble finding a suitable dress for her 1989 wedding to Becker at Manhattan’s Pierre Hotel.
The marriage mogul, 63, now runs an multimillion-dollar empire that spans fragrance, publishing, home products, eyewear, luggage, shoes, everyday fashions and of course her exquisite gowns, which can easily run to five figures.
The couple’s daughters are Cecilia, 21, and Josephine, 18.

“They will not let this impact the running of the company,” a friend of the couple’s told WWD. “They have worked too hard to build it up.”
Wang has designed wedding dresses for a long list of celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Ivanka Trump, Chelsea Clinton, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys.
